Paul is a Chartered Accountant with extensive business experience as Chief Executive with private and multinational companies in Ireland, the UK and the USA. His industry experience includes agri-chemicals, building materials, clothing and engineering.
He has achieved wide ranging business success in the sale and acquisition of businesses both at a personal and corporate level in Ireland and internationally. He is uniquely positioned therefore to understand the needs and wishes of other people wishing to sell their businesses. Crucially he appreciates the importance of securing those premium buyers who often seek out similar or complementary businesses to meet their company’s growth strategies.
Paul believes that attention to pre-sale business grooming and the rigorous and appropriate application of the buy/sale process will ensure a smooth and timely sale completion.
Martin comes from a background of marketing and business development mainly in the FMCG / drinks business both in Ireland and overseas. He has a wealth of experience in marketing leading edge brands and he played a key role in launching Baileys Original Irish Cream in over 25 markets around the world.
Martin uses his marketing, strategic and coaching experience to bring to FBSA a real positive edge to “grooming businesses for sale”. He is expert at identifying the key factors that make a business successful and adept at promoting these to potential buyers. His extensive business contacts, selling and negotiation skills give him a strong edge during the sale process.
Martin has a number of executive and non-executive directorships in Ireland and the UK.
Declan has been closely involved in the sale and purchase of companies on his own behalf, on behalf of companies for which he worked and on behalf of clients. The sale prices have ranged from five figure sums to seven figure multi-million pound deals.
Experience has taught him the importance of marketing the company for sale to the widest possible audience, to identify as many serious buyers as possible. A strategic buyer will always pay more for a company that fits well with his/her growth strategy. The trick is to find these strategic buyers and to attract their attention. Declan is expert at highlighting the growth potential of companies for sale to achieve the best offers from strategic buyers.
Declan managed his own business for over ten years before selling it. He has worked for small and multi-national companies in the UK, Ireland and Australia at most managerial levels including General Manager and Director. He is a Chartered Accountant by profession.
Shay worked at senior manager level in both Irish and multi-national companies for well over 25 years. He has accumulated knowledge and experience of a wide variety of business sectors such FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods), Manufacturing and Construction.
In recent years he has worked with clients seeking to sell and purchase businesses, primarily in the services and supply sectors. As part of these sale processes he has been closely involved in Grooming The Businesses for Sale – focusing on improving the performance and profitability of the companies to enhance their attractiveness to buyers.
He is very conscious of the people factor in the business acquisition / disposal process and has supported business owners through stressful times.
Shay is a Chartered Management Accountant (CIMA).
